Staying In Character – Roleplay Forever

One of our core philosophies at UVRP is simple but vital: Roleplay Forever. This means committing to your character and their story, even when things don't go your way.

Success

Watch any TikTok, YouTube, or Stream and you are likely to hear things like, "RP is dead." "FiveM is dead", "New players ruin the experience." Our goal is to carve out a place where those things are not true.

Never Break Character:

Going OOC (Out of Character) is never acceptable – regardless of how frustrated, upset, or confused you are.

  • Even if you're angry about how RP is going → stay in character

  • Even if someone else breaks character → you still don't

  • Even if you think rules are being broken → keep roleplaying

You applied here to roleplay. So roleplay.

Breaking immersion ruins the experience for everyone involved. No matter what's happening, your first priority is maintaining the scene and dealing with concerns afterward.

Getting Staff Help – The Right Way:

If you need staff assistance or have concerns about ongoing roleplay:

Option 1: In-Game Report

  • Use /report if a staff member is available in-game

  • Note: This doesn't guarantee immediate assistance, but your report will be logged and addressed

Option 2: Discord Ticket (Recommended for Urgent Issues)

  • Open a ticket in Discord for the fastest response

  • This is the best way to get immediate staff attention if you need help with active RP

  • Staff can review, provide guidance, or intervene if necessary

Important: Just because you disagree with someone's roleplay doesn't mean their RP is bad or rule-breaking. Different styles, approaches, and character choices are part of what makes a living world.

The "Roleplay Forever" Mindset:

The current state of FiveM and many RP platforms is filled with OOC arguments, constant ticket wars, and people bailing on scenes they don't like. We're different.

Our philosophy: Let the roleplay play out. Deal with concerns later – if they even need to be dealt with.

Ask yourself before going OOC or stopping RP:

  • "Is this actually rule-breaking, or do I just not like how this is going?"

  • "Can I handle this in character and create interesting RP from it?"

  • "Will breaking character right now improve anything, or just ruin the scene?"

Most of the time, the answer is to keep roleplaying. Some of the best stories come from unexpected, uncomfortable, or challenging situations. Lean into it.

Immersion-Breaking Language – Avoid These:

Certain terms and phrases break immersion and signal OOC communication. Do not use:

❌ "In my head..." (to justify meta knowledge)
❌ "Angels" or "Prayers" (code for respawn/death)
❌ OOC code words or phrases meant to communicate out of character while in-game
❌ Any language that pulls people out of the world we're building

If you need to communicate OOC, take it to Discord tickets or DMs. Keep the city immersive.

Bottom Line:

You're here because you want to roleplay. You submitted an application, joined the community, and logged into the city to create stories. So create them.

Stop looking for reasons to break character or end scenes early. Stop treating every uncomfortable moment as a rule violation. Start embracing the chaos, the conflict, and the unexpected turns that make roleplay memorable.

Roleplay Forever. Deal with it later. That's the UVRP way.

Have genuine concerns about rule-breaking? Open a ticket after the scene concludes. Staff will review and handle it appropriately.
