Serial Killer Roleplay – Approval Required
Serial killer roleplay is one of the most challenging and scrutinized character concepts on UVRP. When done exceptionally well, it creates haunting storylines, intense investigations, and memorable RP for the entire community. When done poorly, it's just RDM with a thin excuse.
This is NOT a beginner character concept. This is a privilege, not a right.
Core Rules & Limitations:
1. Only ONE Active Serial Killer At A Time
The server will only approve one active serial killer character at any given time to prevent saturation and maintain the weight and gravity of these storylines.
If there's already an active serial killer on the server, new applications will be denied until that storyline concludes and has been over for some time.
2. Ticket Approval Is MANDATORY
You MUST submit a ticket and receive explicit approval from Senior Administration before creating or playing a serial killer character.
Your application must include:
📋 Detailed Character Concept:
Full backstory and psychological profile
What drives your character to kill (motivations, trauma, compulsions)
How this character fits into the broader city and maintains a cover life
📋 Kill Method & Signature:
Your character's specific modus operandi (M.O.)
A unique, identifiable signature left at each scene
How kills will be executed to create RP (not just for shock value)
📋 RP Plan & Community Impact:
How your character will create roleplay opportunities for law enforcement, investigators, civilians, and EMS
Your plan for stalking, planning, and building tension before kills
How you'll leave clues and evidence for investigation RP
📋 Evidence & Investigation Strategy:
Specific types of evidence you'll leave (forensic, behavioral, physical)
How investigators can realistically piece together your identity
Your plan for eventually being caught (all serial killers must have an endgame)
📋 Previous RP Examples:
Links to clips, VODs, or detailed descriptions of your best RP on other characters
Demonstrate your ability to create compelling, immersive storylines
Show you understand nuance, consequences, and community-focused RP
Staff will review and either approve, deny, or request revisions. Approval is not guaranteed and is based on your concept's quality and your history on the server.
Mandatory Requirements For Approved Serial Killers:
If approved, you MUST follow these strict guidelines to maintain your approval and avoid RDM violations.
1. Time Between Kills – Minimum 5 IRL Days
You must wait at least 5 real-life days between kills (from the time of one kill to the next).
Why this rule exists:
Prevents constant killing sprees
Allows time for investigation RP to develop
Creates realistic pacing (serial killers don't kill daily)
Gives law enforcement time to build cases
You should be spending MORE time stalking, planning, and creating tension than actually killing.
2. You Must Have A Unique Signature
Every serial killer has a calling card – something that identifies their kills and connects them.
Your signature must be:
Consistent – present at every kill scene
Unique – identifiable as belonging to your character
Discoverable – something investigators can find and use to build a profile
Examples of signatures:
Items left at the scene (flowers, notes, objects)
Ritualistic elements (candles, symbols, arrangements)
Specific victim selection criteria (targeting certain types of people)
Your signature creates the through-line that makes this a serial killer story rather than random murders.
3. Stalking, Planning & Execution
You cannot just randomly kill people and claim it's "serial killer RP."
Each kill must involve:
✅ Stalking Phase:
Observe your target over time (days, not minutes)
Learn their routines, habits, vulnerabilities
Build a profile and select them for specific reasons
Create RP opportunities as a "stranger" they encounter
✅ Planning Phase:
Choose your method and location
Prepare tools, alibis, and escape routes
Consider forensic evidence you'll leave (intentional and unintentional)
Think about how this kill advances your character's story
✅ Execution Phase:
The actual kill should be methodical and deliberate (not a random street shooting)
Follow your M.O. and leave your signature
Create a scene that investigators can process
Consider what evidence you're leaving behind
Each kill should feel like the culmination of a mini-storyline, not a random encounter.
4. You Must Leave Evidence
Serial killers make mistakes. Your character is not infallible, and investigators need realistic paths to catch you.
Required evidence types:
🔍 Physical Evidence:
Fingerprints, DNA, fibers, or other forensic traces
Witness descriptions (even partial or vague)
Security camera footage or digital footprints
Items that can be traced back to you
🔍 Behavioral Evidence:
Patterns in victim selection
Geographic profiling (where kills occur)
Timeline patterns (days/times of kills)
Psychological profile clues
🔍 Mistakes & Slip-ups:
Occasionally leave unintended evidence
Have close calls or witnesses
Make small errors that accumulate over time
The goal: Make it possible (but challenging) for law enforcement to eventually identify and catch you.
You are not playing to "win" by never being caught – you're playing to create the best possible story, which includes an eventual capture.
When You're Caught – Two Options:
All serial killers eventually face justice. When captured and convicted, you have two choices:
Option 1: Life Imprisonment
Your character becomes a "lifer" in prison
You can continue to roleplay them as a prison character
Keep your backstory and create RP within the prison system
Potentially interact with investigators, psychologists, or other inmates
Option 2: Death Penalty
Your character faces execution
This results in a permanent character death (perma-kill)
Your serial killer story ends with their execution
You move on to create new characters
You choose your ending – but you cannot escape consequences. Capture is inevitable; the only question is how your story concludes.
Eligibility & Restrictions:
❌ A Serial Killer CANNOT Be Your First Character On UVRP
You must have:
Established a positive reputation on the server
Demonstrated quality roleplay on at least one other character
Shown you understand server rules, RP standards, and community expectations
Built trust with staff and the community
❌ You May Only Be Approved ONCE
Each player may only receive approval to play a serial killer one time, ever on UVRP.
Once your serial killer storyline ends (capture, death, or voluntary retirement), you cannot apply to play another serial killer on a different character.
Why: This prevents players from cycling through serial killer characters and ensures this remains a rare, special storyline.
Approval Is Based On:
✅ Quality and depth of your application
✅ Your previous roleplay on other characters
✅ Your understanding of server rules and community standards
✅ Your ability to create RP for others, not just yourself
✅ Staff's confidence in your maturity and judgment
✅ Whether your concept will enhance or detract from the community
Staff reserves the right to:
Deny applications without detailed explanation
Revoke approval if rules are violated
Request changes to your concept before approval
Monitor your RP and intervene if necessary
What Good Serial Killer RP Looks Like:
✅ Focuses on investigation and tension, not kill counts
✅ Creates RP for law enforcement, EMS, investigators, and civilians
✅ Builds slowly with careful planning and stalking phases
✅ Leaves compelling evidence and clues for realistic detective work
✅ Maintains a believable cover life (job, relationships, normal interactions)
✅ Embraces the inevitable capture as the climax of the story
✅ Prioritizes storytelling quality over "winning" or evading capture
What Will Get Your Approval Revoked:
❌ Killing more frequently than the 5-day minimum
❌ Random kills with no stalking, planning, or signature
❌ Leaving no realistic evidence for investigation
❌ Breaking character or acting obviously suspicious constantly
❌ Using serial killer status as an excuse for RDM
❌ Refusing to accept consequences or actively avoiding capture indefinitely
❌ Creating a toxic environment or making players uncomfortable OOC
If staff determines you're abusing the privilege, your approval will be revoked immediately and your character may face forced consequences.
The Bottom Line:
Serial killer RP is the ultimate trust exercise between a player and the community.
You're being given permission to kill other players' characters under specific conditions, with the understanding that you'll use that power responsibly to create compelling stories – not to grief, power-trip, or rack up a body count.
This is about crafting a masterful, haunting narrative that the entire server can participate in and remember. It's about the cat-and-mouse game, the investigation, the tension, and the inevitable conclusion.
If you can't commit to that level of quality and responsibility, don't apply.
