Multiple Characters (Alts) – Rules & Separation

You ARE allowed to have multiple characters in the city. Playing different characters can be a great way to explore diverse storylines, perspectives, and roleplay experiences.

However, your characters must remain completely separate. They exist in the same world but should never overlap in ways that benefit you as a player.

Character Separation – The Core Rules:

1. Your Characters Cannot Know Each Other

From an in-character perspective, your characters have never met and do not know of each other's existence.

❌ Not Allowed:

  • Mentioning your other character in conversation in any way.

  • Having your characters work together or interact in any way even through third party characters

  • Using knowledge from one character to benefit another

✅ Allowed:

  • Your characters existing in the same city without interaction

  • Both characters being part of different friend groups, businesses, or storylines

They're strangers. Keep them that way.

Warning

They are not cousins, souls, spirits, etc. They are completely different characters with different motivations, relationships and backgrounds.

Your characters have never met, so refrain from phrases like my cousin, or on my other soul.

2. No Asset Transfers Between Characters

You cannot transfer money, items, vehicles, properties, or any other assets between your characters – directly or indirectly.

❌ Explicitly Prohibited:

  • Giving money from Character A to Character B in any way

  • Buying items on one character to give to your other character

  • Dropping items/weapons for your alt to pick up

  • Using a third-party "friend" to transfer assets between your characters (this is still a violation even if someone else facilitates it)

  • Sharing vehicles, properties, or businesses between your alts

  • Any creative workaround to funnel resources from one character to another

Why this matters: This is essentially exploiting the system to double your wealth and resources. Each character should earn their own way independently.

Consequences:

  • Transferred items/money will be deleted from your inventory

  • Disciplinary action up to and including character wipes or bans

3. No Shared Relationships Across Characters

Your alternative characters should not have the same relationships, friend groups, or connections with other players.

❌ Not Allowed:

  • All your characters being friends with the same group of people

  • Both characters working for the same business or gang

  • Recreating the exact same social circle on every character (you can have the same group OOC but not the same IC group)

✅ Allowed:

  • Naturally developing different relationships on each character

  • Your characters being in completely different social spheres

Why this matters: Your alts should provide diverse experiences, not duplicate the same relationships with different character names. Explore new dynamics, make new friends, and create unique stories for each character.

The exception: If it happens organically and makes sense (e.g., both characters visit the same popular business), that's fine – but don't force it or recreate identical social structures.

Cop & Criminal Alts – Allowed But Strictly Separated

You ARE allowed to have both a Law Enforcement character and a criminal/gang member character.

This can provide great perspective and diverse roleplay experiences. However, the separation rules are even more critical here.

Absolute Requirements:

Your characters do NOT know each other and NEVER share knowledge.

❌ Critical Violations:

  • Your cop character knows about a planned raid on your gang → Your gang member character does NOT know this and cannot warn anyone

  • Your criminal character learns about a rival gangs drug operation → Your cop character doesn't suddenly "figure it out"

  • Using knowledge from one character to benefit the other in any way

  • Avoiding situations where your characters would interact (e.g., your cop "conveniently" not being online during your gang's crime)

✅ What IS Allowed:

  • Your cop arresting your criminal friends - treat them as strangers

  • Experiencing both sides of law enforcement RP authentically and separately

The Consequence For Violating Cop/Criminal Separation:

If you fail to keep your Law Enforcement and criminal characters completely separate – you will be forced to choose one or the other.

You cannot play both if you can't maintain the integrity of each role. This protects the server's balance and ensures fair play for everyone.

Pattern Recognition:

  • One questionable moment? We'll investigate and provide guidance.

  • Multiple incidents of overlap, meta-gaming, or shared knowledge? You'll be forced to pick one character and delete the other.

Why These Rules Exist:

Multiple characters are a privilege, not a right. They're meant to:

  • Let you explore different playstyles and storylines

  • Provide fresh perspectives and experiences

  • Prevent burnout by switching between character types

They are NOT meant to:

  • Double your resources or wealth

  • Give you insider information from multiple angles

  • Allow you to "win" by exploiting multiple character knowledge

Each character should stand on their own - their own money, their own storylines, and their own knowledge.

The Golden Rule:

If you're benefiting as a player from having multiple characters (beyond just having variety in RP), you're probably breaking the rules.

Your characters should be completely independent people living separate lives. The moment they start helping each other, sharing knowledge, or overlapping in ways that benefit you – that's a problem.
